Over the past few years of running Little Deeds, I've come across some great resources that are generally unknown. Take a look and see if you or your loved one, neighbor or friends might benefit:
Maryland grant and loan programs for senior homes modifications
State of MD (0% loans & grants): https://dhcd.maryland.gov/Residents/Pages/ahsp/default.aspx https://dhcd.maryland.gov/Residents/Documents/ahsp/ahsp_application.pdf
Independent living tax credit - https://dhcd.maryland.gov/Pages/ILTC/default.aspx Covers 50% up to $5000 of modifications to make homes safer.
MD's Howard County (up to $2,500 tax credit): https://www.howardcountymd.gov/Departments/Finance/FAQs/Livable-Home-Tax-Credit-FAQs
MD's Montgomery County (up to $2,500 tax credit): https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/design/tax-incentive.html
Also if you're looking for senior housing in Maryland try www.silverstay.com to learn about options depending on what you might financially qualify for.
And Don't forget you need to apply every year for the Renter or Homeowner Property Tax Credit that can save you many thousands of dollars a year!
